Partnership and cooperation

  • In August 2011, the Customs Agency and CATTID signed a free-of-charge agreement to follow up the initiatives undertaken in the previous years by the Customs Agency, by CATTID and by the Research Centre of the EU Commission.
  • On November 22, 2010 the Customs Agency joined the Consortium of the Contain project aiming to create a safe corridor in Europe (European Containers Surveillance Framework - ECSF) to ensure the safety of the entire logistics chain. The CONTAIN project was officially started in October 2011.
  • On May 15, 2010 a working group between Customs Agency, Joint Research Center and Tiger project was set up within the Genoa-Fast Corridor demonstrator for an experimental phase at the port of Genoa and Interporto of Rivalta Scrivia regarding goods moving by rail and bearing e-seals.
  • On 24 April, 2010 the Customs Agency joined the User Group of the SlimPORT project in line with what had already been started for the optimization of operational processes and for the use of technology to ensure safety and security. The SlimPORT project, under the “Industry 2015” Plan presented by the Ministry for Economic Development, aims to solve the problems for the Management of intermodal transfer of passengers and/or goods at exchange hubs between the marine “last mile” and the “first mile”.
  • On 18 March, 2010 the cooperation agreement between the Customs Agency and the Research Centre of the European Commission was renewed, on account of the positive outcomes of the simulations performed under the project “Il Trovatore” at the port of Livorno and interporto of Prato.
  • On 10 March 2009 the Italian Customs Agency and the UIRNet SpA signed a collaboration agreement aimed at achieving a system that will enable the integrated management of physical and documentary tracking of goods moving on the national territory
  • On 22 September 2008, the collaboration with national and European research institutes came about with the agreement between the Customs Agency and the Common Research Centre European Commission laboratory, addressed at identifying innovative solutions based on RFID technologies for the sealing of containers and the remote checking of unloaded goods up to when they are transported within the retro port.
  • On 16 July 2008 the Customs Agency, Leghorn Port Authority and Prato Interport Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at starting an experimental project to relaunch the competitiveness of the port system and also to render customs control techniques more efficient by using innovative technologies.
